1. About The Great Academy

The Great Academy is an online learning platform built for Junior Certificate (JC) and Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) students, offering curriculum-aligned study content across Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Science.

The Great Academy is currently operated as an independent business based in Botswana and is in the process of formal business registration. Reference to "the Academy" in these Terms means the individuals and team operating thegreatacademey.com.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

2.1The Platform is intended for use by JC and BGCSE students. An account may be created and managed by either the student directly or by a parent/guardian on the student's behalf.

2.2Each account is intended for use by one paying student only. Accounts, login credentials, purchased content, screenshots, or downloads may not be shared, resold, or distributed to any other person. Any account found to be shared or used to give unauthorized access to content will be suspended or permanently terminated without refund.

2.3You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.4The Academy reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any account at its discretion, particularly in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

3. Purchases, Pricing, and Access

3.1Content on the Platform is sold on a topic-first basis. Students may purchase individual topics, small bundles, study bundles, half-subjects, or full subjects, as described on the Platform at the time of purchase.

3.2All prices are listed in Botswana Pula (BWP) and are subject to change. Any pricing changes will be posted on the Platform and apply only to purchases made after the change takes effect — not to content already purchased.

3.3Access period: once a topic, bundle, or subject is unlocked, the student has access to that content for one (1) month from the date of enrollment. Access does not automatically renew; students who wish to continue reviewing content after this period will need to re-purchase access.

3.4All content is delivered digitally. There is no physical product shipped or provided.

4. Payment and Enrollment Process

4.1Payment is currently accepted via Orange Money, MyZaka, and direct bank transfer. Due to current payment infrastructure limitations in Botswana, payments are processed manually.

4.2To complete a purchase, the student or parent/guardian must send proof of payment (a screenshot or transaction confirmation) via WhatsApp to the contact provided on the Platform.

4.3Enrollment is not automatic. An administrator will manually verify the proof of payment before access to the purchased topic(s) is unlocked. Please allow a reasonable processing time for enrollment to be completed after submitting proof of payment.

4.4It is the User's responsibility to ensure proof of payment is clear, accurate, and sent to the correct contact. The Academy is not responsible for delays or failure to enroll caused by incomplete, unclear, or incorrect payment information.

5. Refund Policy

5.1Because all content is digital and unlocked immediately upon verified payment, all sales are final once a topic, bundle, or subject has been unlocked. No refunds will be issued for unlocked content.

5.2In the rare case of a duplicate payment, incorrect charge, or a payment made in error before any content was unlocked, Users may contact the Academy to request a review. Refunds in such cases are considered at the sole discretion of the Academy.

6. AI Study Tool and Question Bank — Fair Use

6.1The Platform includes an AI-assisted Study Tool and a Question Bank designed to support students' revision and self-testing.

6.2To ensure fair access for all students and to keep the Platform sustainable, these tools are subject to daily/rolling usage limits (for example, a limited number of AI-generated study sessions or question set generations per topic or subject per day). These limits may be adjusted by the Academy from time to time.

6.3Attempting to bypass, automate, or abuse these usage limits (including through shared accounts, scripts, or bots) is a violation of these Terms and may result in suspension of access.

7. Content, Intellectual Property, and Acceptable Use

7.1All study notes, quizzes, exam papers, diagrams, icons, videos, and other materials on the Platform ("Content") are the intellectual property of The Great Academy, unless otherwise stated, and are protected under applicable copyright law.

7.2Content is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial study use only. You may not copy, reproduce, screenshot for redistribution, resell, publicly share, or upload Platform Content to any other website, group, or platform.

7.3Content is based on and aligned with the official Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) syllabus and publicly released past examination papers. The Academy does not claim ownership over the underlying syllabus or official past papers themselves — only over the original notes, explanations, questions, and materials it has produced.

7.4Users agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, to disrupt or interfere with its operation, or to attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, its accounts, or its systems.

8. No Guarantee of Academic Results

8.1The Great Academy is a study aid intended to support students' understanding of the JC and BGCSE curriculum. While content is grounded in the official syllabus and past examination papers, the Academy does not guarantee any specific grade, examination outcome, or academic result from use of the Platform.

8.2A student's performance depends on many factors outside the Academy's control, including individual effort, attendance, teaching received elsewhere, and exam conditions. Use of the Platform is one part of a student's overall preparation, not a substitute for it.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Great Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the Platform, including but not limited to loss of study time, missed enrollment windows, or academic outcomes.

9.2The Platform is provided "as is." While we take reasonable care to keep the Platform available and content accurate, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the Platform will be free of errors at all times.

10. Termination

10.1The Academy may suspend or terminate a User's account and access to purchased content, without refund, where these Terms have been violated — including but not limited to account/content sharing, payment fraud, or abusive use of AI/quiz generation tools.

10.2Users may stop using the Platform at any time. Termination of an account does not entitle the User to a refund for content already unlocked.

11. Changes to These Terms

11.1The Academy may update these Terms and/or pricing at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Privacy

12.1Information collected in connection with payments, enrollment, and account use (including phone numbers and payment confirmation screenshots) is handled in accordance with our separate Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how your information is collected and used.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

13.1These Terms are governed by the laws of Botswana.

13.2Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or use of the Platform shall first be addressed through good-faith communication with the Academy. Where a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Botswana, or resolved through formal arbitration as may be agreed between the parties.
